From the moment the idea for the nonprofit began, I knew it would be more significant than just helping a few people. I know what’s happening, I’m autistic, I can see sociological patterns, and it’s here !!
Things are shifting as we learn more about neurological differences and how to aid people diagnosed with them. Neurodiversity is the mindset that we see brain differences and how people see the world as a variation instead of a deficit. It gives power and advocacy to the individual and sets them up for success in life.
When I founded the name and slogan for our nonprofit, it was essential to me that it included the word Neurodivergent or Neurodiverse as I wanted to be a part of the Neurodiversity movement. I want people to see a shirt or a bumper sticker that says “Celebrate Neurodiversity” and go look it up on the web or ask someone what it means. I want people to educate themselves, this is what creates a more inclusive future!
Our logo took a while to design as I needed to try to come up with an image that displays that brain differences are unique and beautiful. With the help of another Neurodivergent Volunteer, we created a unique logo! Since then, I have been creating fun stickers and other advocacy items, which sell really well at our events! To make a bigger impact, we decided to go national and put our items on our online store ! I hope that the stickers, magnets, and bumper stickers make it across the country and maybe even internationally someday!!
Our 3d Printed Fidget Toys are such a special addition to our sales! They are designed and produced by an 11-year-old Neurodivergent child who is one of our favorite volunteers. Along with the help of his family, we have been churning out our most popular sales items. Many adults and kiddos love the 3d fidget animals for focus concentration or just as a cute reminder that it’s okay to fidget ! We have a variety of animals !
Did I forget to mention ? Every purchase on our website or at events goes to the funding of our future community center ! We make no personal profit on our items!
As an autistic adult with oral stimulation-seeking habits, I love my Chew Necklaces ! They help me to stay present and relaxed on a daily basis. Chew necklaces are perfect for an adult or kiddo who loves to chew on their shirt sleeves or necklaces. This is a safe and fashionable alternative with many options! The problem people have when choosing an item for sensory seeking is that everyone has different needs and preferences. I added descriptions to each type of chewlery on our website to help parents and neurodivergent adults choose the best one!
We decided to add our Calm Down Card & Communication Card to our website as a FREE time to encourage access to the nation! We hand out these cards at our events, and they are so popular. The calm-down card has suggestions on regulating your body and some verbal reminders if you are feeling overwhelmed or anxious. The Communication card is a good tool for anyone with situational communication struggles. The accessible clip-on design makes it easy to bring with you everywhere! These cards are designed and are hand printed, and laminated by ME ! They are also available in bulk or via pdf ,just send me an email!
